Class # 110010-S10A
In 1947, a shepherd stumbled upon
the Dead Sea Scrolls in caves below
the ancient settlement of Qumran.
Since then, archaeologists have pieced
together more than 100,000 scroll
fragments into more than 900 documents—
from biblical manuscripts and
commentary to religious legal writings
that tell us about the world 2,000
years ago. The Dead Sea Scrolls:
Words That Changed the World is a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see
actual scrolls from Qumran, and to
discover their cultural, scientific and
religious impact. It is a story that’s
beyond words, beyond time and
beyond our imaginations. At the conclusion
of The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition,
you’ll see twenty-eight pages
from The Saint John’s Bible, history’s
newest hand written, illustrated Bible.
A work of art, it uses ancient techniques
to illuminate our world today,
presenting themes, images and technology
of the 21st century.
