American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training

The Central Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to offer Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training. Our

commitment is to provide our students understanding of the Six Principles of Care; safety, privacy, dignity, communication,

independence, and infection control. This 99 hour program meets the requirements of area nursing programs for

students who need nursing assistant certification.

Classes take place at the Central Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross in St. Cloud,

 

 

with clinical $650 (fee includes: tuition, textbook, and liability insurance coverage). Paid in full at the time of registration.

Optional Training:

Healthcare Provider. Cost $50 discount price only for nursing assistant students.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification valid for 2 years equal to American Heart’s

Additional Costs to Student:

Mantoux (TB) Test and/or chest X-Ray

State Registry Test (dates and locations offering this test will be distributed to students.)

Prerequisites Before Enrollment:

Students must either provide a transcript of postsecondary education or must take and pass the Test of Adult Basic

Education (TABE) prior to enrollment. The TABE test ensures students are able to read, comprehend, and test in English

at an eighth grade level. The test is offered at no addtional cost to the student. To schedule an appointment to take the

Criminal Background Checks

Per State requirements, all enrolled students will complete a background check on the first day of class.

Attendance Policy

Attendance in all classroom and clinical sessions are mandatory.

Tuition Reimbursement:

Minnesota requires nursing homes to reimburse a nursing assistant, who has successfully completed training and passed

the State Registry, for the actual costs of the tuition and reasonable expenses for testing. Please ask your employer, or

potential employer, for further details.

July 27th & 28th 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
